SLV Duisburg is the largest of 10 training and educational institutes for welding engineering in Germany and one of the largest and most important welding engineering institute in the whole of Europe.
About 215 employees, including 31 engineers, are at your disposal.
The annual turnover of SLV Duisburg amounts € 16 mio. and is splitted into:
50 % education and examination
30 % quality assurance, construction surveillance,
manufacture qualification, destructive and non-destructive testing
20 % research and others
In Duisburg about 200 people can be trained practically. We have about 600 seats in our 16 lecture rooms. In Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Kamen-Heeren-Weve, Oberhausen, Wesel and Wuppertal we have five additional training workshops with additional 300 training places and lecture rooms.
In our work shops an annual average of 400 participants are trained in welding and metal working.
In 2006 we trained:
177 welding engineers
106 welding personnel
25 welding technologists
24 welding shop foremen
33 welding inspection engineers, technologists and personnel
SLV taught special welding engineering knowledge to about 1400 participants in and outside Germany in more than 100 courses.
